The Most Anticipated Wedding

Anis is my dearest cousin on my mama’s side. She was born 6 months after I was. Although she is younger, she has always been the kakak to most of us. She was extremely shy when we were growing up but later the shyness grew out of her. She was always the darling of the family. Kind, patient, motherly, compassionate and honest, these are some of her finest qualities. Despite all that, trouble seems to reign in her romance empire. She was most of the time disappointed with the men she dated. One fateful day, my mother called me to ask if I have any friends I could recommend to this guy whose mom was seeking a wife for. I told my mom that she has a niece she could recommend to this seemingly kind-soft spoken-single-cute guy… she asked, who? And I said Anis of course! My mom was just delighted. A couple of weeks later they met at her workplace and things hit off from there on. They dated for a few months, made plans for the wedding and finally they got married on 14th of June 2009 at the historical Ubudiah Mosque in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. I was there the day before she got married and I cherished the moments we shared before she is called a wife. Little things like washing her hair, to testing her makeup, to doing touch ups on her henna, and trying her scarf are just the things I’ve imagined doing since we were little. And I got to do all that, it is important and special for me.

I also was privileged enough to get to do her makeup for her akad nikah ceremony that morning. She did not hire a makeup artist for the ceremony. But she had one after for the reception. The reception was held at her mom’s house in kuala kangsar. And another one held the next week at her husband Zarif’s house in KL, and also a small party on Anis’s dad’s house in Klang. Anis looked so beautiful as a bride. Zarif also looked sharp as a groom. The pair is inseparable and is meant for each other. I honestly feel like their marriage will last forever, and I pray for them to have a happy life with lots of love and passion.

Langkawi Dream

The date was 15th june 09. This trip was a smaller vacation for us compared to the usual vacation we always go for every 6 months. We went to MATTA fair last march and found a good deal for this particular trip. We stayed at Berjaya Langkawi Resort and Spa for 3 days 2 nites. The resort is beautiful and huge. We got the jungle chalet further up on the hill. The resort is superb. Except the part where u have to take a shuttle to go everywhere in the resort cause of the size of the resort. We drove up to Kuala Kedah from Kuala Kangsar cause there was a wedding we attended at KK, and took a ferry from Kuala Kedah jetty. The first day we were at the resort we decided to indulge at the spa. they had a promotion on the couples package. We opt for balinese massage and we also get to use the spa facilities for free. So we jumped right in the hot jacuzzi. The Ayura spa is soo secluded and private. It was tucked away deep in the hills of the resort overlooking a gtreat view of the ocean and Mount Machinchang.

the next morning we went to visit Mahsuri's muzeum and musoleum at padang matsirat area...it was an educational visit where we learnt the story of mahsuri's legend. The picture below was taken on the way to the muzeum. U can see mount Machinchang on the background. It's the highest peak in Langkawi. Beautiful innit?

Later we went to the Underwater world located at pantai cenang area. It was fun going there...

this is the first time i witness a fur seal and penguines real life... kinda cool to me...

Later that night, we decided to have dinner at the resort. So we went to Pahn Thai Restaurant at the resort located about 200 metres away from the beach. It is built on stilts and they serve thai cuisine. The ambiance was romantic and very relaxing. Although the wind was quite strong, we didn't mind it at all. The food was great and it was sooo romantic that we didn't want to leave...

Fun Redang

A few days back I went to Redang with my girlfriends from school. this trip was our second trip together since our last trip was 6 years ago. We depart from KL at 10:30 pm on the 27th of april. we took a double decker bus to Kuala Terengganu and the journey took 7 hours. We arrived at KT at around 5:30 am. We were supposed to get some sleep while on the bus but unfortunately i didn't manage to get any cause I'm not used to travelling at night with a driver i don't know. The first part of our little vacation was all about waiting. Waiting to arrive at KT, and then we wait for the boat to Redang which was delayed until 10:30 am that's like 5 hours since arriving at KT and then we wait some more on the boat cause the journey took 2 hours from KT to Redang. And when we finally got there, we had to wait again for our room to be ready. The room was finally ready at 2 o'clock. At that point I have been awake for 30 hours! We then got ready to go for our first snorkeling trip which departs at 3 pm.

this was taken at kuala terengganu bus station at around 5:30 am

we went back the next morning departing at 7 am from the resort. I managed to take some sunrise photos from the cafe's veranda. It was a brief bliss... we couldn't ask for a better parting gift from redang.
