Flashes of 2009

Ok, this is what happened after my last blog... In July, my other cousin from my dad's side got married. He is older than me by a year. When we were young, by young i mean toddlers, we spent so much time together at my grandma's house in Kg. Baru. We eat together, play together, sleep together and even got punished together. I thought him how to tie his shoe laces and he thought me how to.... well lets just say that he was a hyper young boy. So he thought me a loooot of things. things that will surely get u into trouble... hahaha... Anyway, he got married to a beautiful bride named Azua. On their Akad nikah, i thought it would be a good opportunity for me to practice my photography skills. So, i picked up my loyal petite camera and start shooting. here are some of the pics i took and edited.

( Azua's makeup was done by Syed Faisal and her bridal wear was done by Rizman Ruzaini)

that's my dear uncle we call mak joi. He's on wheelchair since he's suffering from cancer. But this uncle of mine is a fighter. He has fought the disease ever since I was young. I think it has been more than 20 years since he was diagnosed. A great spirit indeed.

The akad nikah was very emotional. Amil (my cousin) is his first born. And it was a blissful event yet very touching for all of us.

July is also a month full of romance. It is also the month we got married. 8th of July is our anniversary. so it has been 3 years since we got married. We went to Mandi Mandi a fine dining restaurant situated in the heart of KL. its a malay fusion restaurant serving the best yet Masak Lemak Lobster with truffles.

we sat at the "pondok". the ambiance was nice, the food was great and the price was not bad.

We also celebrated Fuzz's 32nd birthday on the same month. I planned a surprise birthday party for him. Eric (fuzz's brother) handled the venue and the barbequed food while I and my brother Faris did the desert and the rest of the food and beverage. It was also the first time Fuzz's mom, aunt and sister met my family after we've got married due to some circumstances. nonetheless it was a fun party.

this cool cake was done by my friend kaye. Fuzz once told me that he wanted a turntable cake when he saw one of his student had it for his birthday. So I called my friend kaye whom I know from college and has a cake business. Fuzz was thrilled to see his turntable cake. Initially I wanted to do a small intimate surprise party/ cook out. but it turned out to be quite big with the turn up. The food was not enough for everyone but luckly Fuzz's mom came and brought a big tupperware of beehoon goreng. all good.

Our first extended family photo.

Hari raya came very shortly after. We did'nt went back to kuala kangsar like we always do. So we spent more time visiting families in KL.

Our raya family photo is usually taken at my sister's house. we always celebrate 1st day of raya at her house since my mom is staying there.

We went to Bangkok on September. This time we took najwa (fuzz's lil sister) along. We decided to go on a shopping spree while we were there. So we took najwa to Chatuchak weekend market. Chap Chap Chap as pronounced by Najwa. She was instantly mesmerized by all the treasures u could find there. Even the cold drinks was excellent!

so after shopping, we stopped at chatuchak park to cuci mata and enjoy the best iced tea in the world! and some PDA

a picture with DJ Ono. Notice how Najwa look so elated in this picture? thats coz she has a little crush on Ono. hahaha...we took najwa to Bed Supper Club where Ono is spinning. Fuzz was working that night.

we also went to Sriracha Tiger zoo. Fuzz's friend shomori and his girlfriend Apple brought us there to look at tigers. we even got the chance to feed a cub.

these cute orang utans looks sooo bored. They probably had to sit there all day every day to take pictures with visitors. poor them.

when we got back, god gave us a present. kimmy gave birth to a kitten! her name is Zoey. She was the only kitten. She's just adorable. She was born on the 1st of october 2009

October was the month when my best friend got engaged! Farah and Hasif met when we were still in high school. But they only got together as a couple a few years after. Farah and I have been friends for 17 years now, so i was definately excited when she got engaged.

her make up was done by me. she wanted a simple and sweet look. it was an honour for me to be able to do her makeup.

that's her fiance's mom. She's just a sweet lady.

Far with the hantarans...and her soon to be mother in law.

That's Hasif her fiance. They're both engaged! they just look sooo happy. Im happy for them too.

Far showing off her engagement ring. In malay culture, they're suppose to give a band instead of a ring unlike the western engagement rings. Its the total opposite, while the westerners give wedding bands, we give a ring with a big rock on it.

Bangkok again. We went there for the 3rd time to pick up where we left off. Shopping in Bangkok is never ending. So we went again to update violet white boutique's stocks. This time, we went to different places to shop and tried different places to eat.

this was when we went to McD to surf the net. najwa was excited about fuzz's webcam that she decided to force all of us to fool around with her using the webcam. we had fun. the thais was looking at us like we're crazy. haha...

this is a picture i took on the pedestrian bridge in front of central world at around noon. I looove this picture so much cause it captured the true essence of Bangkok - traffic jam...

in front of central world. check out the cool graffiti at the back

December was calm and steady. This year, we had our christmas dinner at Delicious Dua Residency. It was not as crazy as the previous years, but we did have fun. This year was different, instead of giving gifts to each and everyone like the previous years, we decided to do secret santa where we only give to one person by drawing a name... it was different definitely. the good part was that we saved a lot of money but the down side was that we only got 1 present each, well actually 2 each coz Dzianti already bought pressies for everyone way ahead.

dzianti gave me baju tido which i loooovee very much. Me and Fuzz decided to give the same present (a HP printer). we thought that by giving te same present, we are doing justice to the person receiving it. Coz i wouldn't wanna give a lame present while fuzz gave a totally awesome printer. But the funny thing was, Shez also bought the SAME printer and guess who got it? ME!!! hahahaha... its like buying myself a printer. It was hella funny.

So, 2009 ended with a lot of memories, love and fun travels. 2009 was a good year for us and it brought us more blessings and love in 2010.

Violet White with a capital Veee...

This entry is about my baby Violet White. If u've read my very first entry, i wrote about my dream to open a boutique called violet white. As of October 2009, i have successfully own an online boutique. it's on facebook and as well as blogspot. After our first trip to Bangkok, i've decided that i want to venture into business world. And sooo... i've saved up some money for me to be able to get my supplies from bangkok on my second trip. I never thought it would be the BIGGEST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE of my life! Fuzz and Najwa (Fuzz's lil sis) came along to help with the stuff. came back with baggage overweight LOL! from that moment on, i realized that i am a business owner! it might not be a multi-million dollar company, but alas, it's my baby. One of my dreams came true, and i can't wait to see my baby grow. maybe one day i'll have my own shop, and then, i'll design my own stuff n i'll become a designer! homaygowd! this is sooo exciting. More exciting than working in an office from 9 to 5...haha... but before that i must start small. I've join several bazaars and markets such as the Threadszoo Bazaar. Its alot of fun joining the bazaars. Made good money and had alot of fun watching people too. I wont stop there... this is just part of the journey to become successful. Currently I'm having someone to design violet white's official website. It's still under construction tho. This website will be better than the existing facebook page or blog. Cause it will have all sorts of payment medium available. Until then, u can visit www.violetwhiteboutique.blogspot.com...
